If you’re like me, you’ll run into a daily struggle to get things done while working on the computer…
Whether it’s editing photos in Lightroom, working on articles for your blog, creating a new ad for the local newspaper, or simply replying to client emails, procrastination can get the better of us all, and it’s especially powerful when you work for yourself from home like most photographers out there!
I’ve recently found a really great solution that is totally free to try out, and once you’ve used it, you’ll almost certainly want to upgrade to the paid membership (which is still crazy cheap for what you get)…
It’s a company called ‘Regus’ who specialise in renting out office space…
It’s all over the world in over 1500 locations and it’s basically a big office space, decked out with everything you could possibly need.
- Private desks
- High-speed WI-FI (not that garbage you find in most coffee shops)
- Free coffee in most places
- Best of all – no distractions!
Once you’re a member, you can roll up to any of the locations and set up camp for the day, and come back for as many days as you want to.
Your productivity will go up significantly (it’s not uncommon to triple it), so you’ll get 8 hours of work done in a measly 2-3 hours!
It’ll help you stay focused, stay away from Facebook and YouTube, and help you come up with some really great ideas since all the distractions will be gone.
There are even private presentation rooms in most locations where you can take clients if you’re trying to give a more professional feel (both personal, and professional feelings have their place, so there’s nothing wrong with doing a presentation in your lounge room at home!).
To get the full Gold membership it costs $300 per year, which is really cheap if you plan on using it a lot, and compared to renting a regular office space, which can easily be $200 each week!
You can get a free 12 month trial, which gives you 10 visits and a bunch of other stuff to try out, just use this link:
And then enter the promo code ‘AESC’
After those 10 free visits you’ll know if your productivity went up a lot, which will help you decide if the Gold pass would be a good investment for you (some photographers have great productivity at home).
Leave a comment below and let me know if you’ve tried something like this before, or just say thanks for the tip!
